Cluster Headaches

A cluster headache (CH) is a disorder characterized by recurrent and severe headaches located on one side of the head, typically around the eyes. The cause of CHs is unknown, but triggers may include alcohol, paint, perfume, petrol and other strong smells.
Avoiding the triggers of cluster headaches can help prevent them.
Symptoms

Headache

  • Rapidly developing

  • Radiates to the cheek, Radiates to the jaw, Radiates to the back of head, Radiates to the back of the neck

Symptoms of a cluster headache can be relieved or controlled with nasal sprays, oxygen therapy and certain medication that narrow blood vessels in the brain to reduce the pain.
