Adrenal Insufficiency

Adrenal insufficiency, also known as Addison's disease, is a condition in which the adrenal gland does not produce adequate levels of the necessary hormones that help regulate metabolism, immune system, blood pressure, response to stress and other essential functions.
With treatment, symptoms of Addison's disease can largely be controlled. Most people with the condition have a normal lifespan and are able to live an active life with few limitations.
