Viral conjunctivitis is a highly contagious infection of the conjunctiva leading to inflammation.

  • Recent upper respiratory tract infection

    or Contact with an individual with a red eye

  • Treatment
  • Viral conjunctivitis usually resolves on its own within a few weeks and does not require any specific treatment, but antihistamines may be used to help with some of its symptoms.
