Trichomoniasis

Trichomoniasis is a sexually transmitted infection caused by a

parasite

. Trich symptoms are similar to those of other STIs. It can’t be diagnosed by symptoms alone. Anyone who thinks they may have acquired trich should see a doctor for a physical exam and laboratory tests.
Sexual partners, even if they have no symptoms, should also be treated. Sexual intercourse should be avoided until trichomoniasis is treated.

Treatment
Trichomoniasis is typically treated with antibiotics. Trichomoniasis is unlikely to go away without treatment. The infection may cure itself in rare cases, but you risk passing the infection on to someone else if you're not treated.
