Otitis Media

Acute Otitis Media (AOM) is the inflammation of the middle ear caused by infection.

It is recommended for your children to wash their hands regularly and thoroughly to be as hygienic as possible and prevent common infections and other illnesses.

  • Ear pain

    Fever

    • Greater than or equal to 38°C (100.4°F), Less than 38°C (100. 4°F)

    Difficulty hearing

    • In one ear

  • Risk factors
  • Recent upper respiratory tract infection

    or Inflammation of the nose caused by allergy

    Cleft lip and/or cleft palate

    Family history of recurrent Otitis Media

  • Treatment
  • AOM is typically treated with antibiotics.
