Nonbacterial thrombotic endocarditis (NBTE) is a rare condition that refers to a spectrum of non-infectious lesions of the heart valves that is most commonly seen in advanced malignancy.

Endocarditis is a serious illness, especially if complications develop. Early diagnosis and treatment is vital to improve the outlook for the condition.
