Hypotension

Hypotension is a condition for unusually low blood pressure.

Low blood pressure can often deprive the brain and other organs of the oxygen and nutrients that they require, which typically makes it a life-threatening condition.

  • The goal is to raise your blood pressure and reduce signs and symptoms. Depending on your age, health and the type of low blood pressure you have, you can do this in several ways: 1-If the cause of low blood pressure is a medication, treatment usually involves changing or stopping the medication or lowering the dose. 2-Use more salt. 3-Drink more water. 4-Wear compression stockings. 5-Medications that can boost your blood volume. 6-Intravenous fluids or vasopressors, which are medications that help raise blood pressure.
