Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy

Hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) is a serious condition in which the muscles of the heart become abnormally thick, making it harder for the heart to pump blood to the rest of the body.

HOCM can lead to fatal diseases.

  • Family history of sudden cardiac death

    or Family history of sudden death while doing sports

    or Family history of hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy

    High blood pressure disease

  • HOCM is typically treated with beta blockers, and heart surgery is a last resort.
