Dry Eye Disease

Dry eye disease or DES is a condition of having dry eyes. Other associated symptoms include irritation, redness, discharge, and easily fatigued eyes. Blurred vision may also occur. Symptoms range from mild and occasional to severe and continuous.

It is usually a chronic problem.

  • 1-Environmental control. 2-Rehydration 3-Medication for inflammation such as steroids. 4-Conserving tears. 5-Surgery, in severe cases of dry eyes, tarsorrhaphy may be performed where the eyelids are partially sewn together.
