Blepharitis is the inflammation of the eyelids. Blepharitis usually affects both eyes along the edges of eyelids. It commonly occurs when tiny oil glands near the base of the eyelashes become clogged, causing irritation and redness. Several diseases and conditions can cause blepharitis.
