Urinary Incontinence

Urge Urinary Incontinence

Urinary Incontinence (UI) refers to any uncontrolled leakage of urine. UI can be caused by an overactive bladder, poor closure of the bladder, poor bladder contraction or blockage of the urethra, and medication or health problems.

When you urinate, the bladder wall muscle squeezes to force urine out of the bladder. As this happens, the sphincter muscle relaxes to allow the urine to pass through.
