Don’t kill the messenger
I always wondered why I would wake up and feel like a stranger in my own body, why I had no energy, my skin was constantly breaking out, my hair brittle, suffering with insomnia and low mood. Most of us have gone through years of confusing and negative beliefs about our bodies as we’re taught so little about how our bodies work, what’s normal and what’s not I went years thinking it was normal that I didn’t have a period and that these symptoms were just part of being a women and having PCOS But your symptoms of hormone imbalance are vital messages, sometimes a warning system that’ll alert you when you’re not getting what you need for your body to support you as you would want Your body is not your enemy, it doesn’t hate you, it’s not a battle. We shouldn’t blame and ignore all these messages when they’ve been trying to warn us to pay attention to them. Our body needs our support from our lifestyle and everyday choices to enable it to support us Things I was doing back then that didn’t support my body and my hormones : - Eating around 1200-1500 calories, depriving my body of important nutrients and energy - Opting for low calorie and low fat foods with no nutritional value - Skipping meals which makes it harder to blood sugar balance - Having a daily set calorie limit which meant I was focused more on excluding foods than including foods for nourishment and gut health support - Weighing myself everyday in attempt to get to my lowest weight rather than focusing on how I feel - Not supporting my body with enough nutrients as I transitioned off birth control which made it harder for me to get my period back My priorities when it comes to my own health have really changed over the past years and with that my physical body has and will continue to change throughout my life. From a time where I I was driven only by aesthetics, I've never felt more confident and trusting in my body having a healthy cycle, supporting my body through my diet, daily movement and loving and accepting myself as I am now. Don't waste time hating on your body, support it 🫶🏼
