Dementia doesn’t stop someone from experiencing grief.
Remember this when your loved ones are having negative emotions, they may not be able to express their emotions and take it out on those around them…just like a lot of people without dementia do too!
So, be aware that it’s natural to grieve. Give them space to do so, be there with a listening ear and shoulder to lean on even if they can’t express to you verbally they can feel your love through these moments. 💜
Caregivers, please, don’t beat yourself up if you cannot get your loved one out of this grieving state of mind. It’s a part of being human and you can’t keep people smiling 24/7. It’s ok to feel our emotions.
