„What about the x children in foster care?“ or „Should we just let kids rot in foster care then?“.
Let me lift the fog behind the question:
Adoption is NOT a solution to an overcrowded and unethical foster system.
You all are mixing two very different things.
Adoption and foster care don’t go hand in hand simply because they have different goals.
Frankly, I see 2 reasons why the foster system is overcrowded.
1. adoption and potential adopters don’t prioritize child care and well-being. And in adoptions, y’all certainly don’t care abt the kids in the foster system, unless there’s a chance at possessing them. That’s an issue because the foster care system was not intended to serve family building purposes aka the possession of children.
2. The foster care system is a “takes a village” kind of system that only works in a society that doesn’t strip children from their parents as punishment for the social injustice they suffer.
