Paternal postpartum depression
Did you know that there's also paternal postpartum depression? While it's often experienced by mothers, it can also be experienced by fathers. Men may not experience the pain of childbirth or need physical recovery, but the presence of a new child is a major life change. Depression in new fathers can begin during the pregnancy and increase after the birth of the child. New fathers don't access the sort of services that new mothers do. They don't tend to see their doctor, maternal and child health nurse or midwife, which is where problems are often picked up in women.

Taking care of kids isn’t “helping”
I love taking care of my kids but some people praise me for helping my wife as I spent time with my kids. Well that’s not anything to praise, that’s my duty. That’s our responsibility we both agree on so we have our own parts in this story. Please stop praising fathers for being just fathers.
